Governing Law

These policies are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these policies or any rental transaction will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. Epilogue will seek to resolve all disputes amicably and in good faith in the first instance.

Consumer Protection Act

Epilogue operates in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Where any provision of these policies conflicts with the CPA, the provisions of the CPA will prevail. Cancellation penalties applied under these policies are reasonable cancellation charges as contemplated by section 17 of the CPA and reflect the genuine costs and losses incurred by Epilogue when a booking is cancelled.

Theft & Legal Action

Non-return of a rented dress, failure to accept delivery with no prior communication, or any attempt to retain or damage Epilogue’s property without authorisation may be reported to the South African Police Service (SAPS) and may result in civil and/or criminal proceedings. Epilogue reserves all rights in this regard.

Acceptance of Policies

By completing payment through the Epilogue website, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted all policies set out in this document in full. These policies constitute the entire agreement between Epilogue and the customer in respect of the rental transaction and supersede any prior representations or communications.
